Reminder: Keep Cpi Kid Friendly

12 May 2013 - 04:57 PM

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I think it could be said again even if it has. :)

First of all this is not directed at any specific members. I just want to make sure everyone (including new members) keeps this in mind. It is very important to keep what you say and post kid friendly. This means how you act, what pictures you post, and what you say. We all want CPI to be as safe as it can possibly be.

Saying a cuss word is very offensive, even if you don't mean it or are just saying it to make someone laugh. CP is meant for kids between 6-14 years old. If a 6 year old sees a cuss word on here they probably won't know what the word means. They might think it is funny and then go around saying that word. They might even be banned from CP for trying to say it. Our words have great importance.

What stories you tell are also very important. You might post something you joked about with your friend, or you might have made your teacher upset, but he/she knew you were joking. This is also a bad idea. You may be known as a joking type of person, or everyone knows not to take you seriously, but some kids aren't. If a student/friend were to try this that wasn't known for making jokes, everyone would think they were serious. This could cause them to lose a friend or even be expelled from school. Yes, it could easily lead someone to that point. If you want to talk about that stuff at least keep it in a private message. :)

Be nice to other members. You would not believe how showing or not showing kindness could affect someone's life. You never know what is going on in their life. You have no idea whether someone was bullied, completely ignored, never loved by a family member, or what could have gone on before they joined. If you show kindness to each other you could make someone so overjoyed. But if you are mean to someone it could cause them to feel horrible, even to the point of thinking about suicide. Don’t think I’m joking when I say that, it really could.

What pictures you post are also have meaning. Don’t post things that are even a little disturbing. This includes dead things, shirtless men, girls in bikinis, etc. Even if you don’t find them disturbing, other members might. Some parents don’t want their kids to see those types of images and we want those same kids to be safe on CPI. If you want to share those type of pictures keep it in a PM with people you know aren’t disturbed by them.

We all want CPI to be the best place it can, keeping these in mind will help. By understanding this you could help someone feel happy. I know you'd all like that, right? Just remember we have lots of people watching us and what we post. ;)

Explanation About Polo's Twitter

18 April 2013 - 08:16 AM

Yesterday Polo Field's Twitter account was suspended. Since then, everyone has been worried about what happened. The day before that Polo said he accidentally deleted ALL of his old tweets and not even a week before that he unfollowed around a thousand fans who he used to follow. This caused a lot of people to wonder things like "Is Polo quitting?" or "Was he hacked?". The most logical question was, "Is there a new rule we don't know about?" and this seems to be the problem. Here is Polo Field's blog post he made right after his Twitter account was suspended:

So today was… interesting. Apparently Twitter doesn’t appreciate it when you delete 20,000 tweets. I learned that the hard way when I had my Twitter account suspended today.

It was also a good reminder to be very careful about third-party applications. Think twice before using some app you know nothing about. Twitter allows third-party app development, but that doesn’t mean that every third-party app is automatically okay…

Anyways, I learned the hard way. I have a help desk ticket in with Twitter to look into the issue with the @polofield account.

Learn from my mistake. Don’t trust weird random Twitter apps without doing a bit of research first.

In the meantime, I am still available via @clubpenguin to share news and updates with the CP community.

I can reply to your comments if you submit them via the Club Penguin blog. The best way to connect about Club Penguin is through the official CP website.

My Polo blog here will eventually be shut down once we update the What’s New Blog to be even more awesome. The update last year was sort of a “half-way” update…

I can’t wait to share the HUGE blog update with everyone. It’s going to be so beautiful!!

Hope this helps clear things up a bit. I appreciate the concern from everyone in the community. I also truly appreciate the nice tweets from so many people.

Keep it nice. Be a great friend.

And… Waddle On!

Now you can see why his account was suspended, but you may still be thinking "Why did he unfollow everyone?". Well if you reread a certain paragraph, you can see he said he will share news on CP official Twitter and if you want to talk to him you have to do it on CP's website. This probably means there is some new rule that either Club Penguin, Disney, or even Twitter itself made. Please remember that Twitter is for teens 13+. So, if you go on there make sure you are old enough and have your parent's permission. ;)

Please don't say anything mean about Polo Field because it is out of his control. I hope this cleared up any confusion on the subject. :)

*UPDATE*

He has made another blog post on his website:

According to Twitter, the @polofield account was suspended for being an impersonator. LOL! Now that is funny.

So hopefully Twitter fixes the issue and the real Polo Field can return one day. icon_smile.gif?m=1129645325g

Should I Post A " How To " About Art?

04 April 2013 - 07:01 AM

I've heard a lot of people ask me before if I could post a topic on how I do art. So, should I? If you want me to what part of the drawing process would you like me to post? Vote in the poll above and I will try to make a guide. ;)

Have You Ever Seen The End Of A Rainbow?

17 March 2013 - 09:07 AM

When you go in stores around St. Patrick's Day they usually have decorations with rainbows and pots of gold at the end. I've heard a lot of people say there isn't an end to rainbows, and that they just appear in the sky. However, I have seen the end of one! There wasn't any gold at the bottom though :P My friend says she's seen the end of one too (at a completely different location). So, have you seen the end of a rainbow? :)
