You would understand if you knew how difficult it is to program a game. It's no walk in the park
Plus they have to hire live mods, support teams, graphics designer. Plus they add new stuff every week.
But having said that, I think the price should go down a buck or two.

I do have a 'real' job.I agree with Frogsambob and Splanky. If you have a real job(Which I do) Club Penguin's membership prices aren't all that bad. And of course, CP always is adding new things for Members. I also think they do a good job giving non-members things to do.

i never looked at it that way. very true!In terms of business, you have to evenly price the items, in this case membership, to compensate for the effort, staff, software, customer quality and service plus profits and website payments. You have to fully be aware that just because it is online doesn't make it easier than say a big supermarket or shop like Wal Mart. In fact you could say it is harder.
Club Penguin uses Adobe Flash, they'll need to pay and install Adobe Flash CS5/6 (or a new version when it is released) Other programs such as MySQL or Oracle for keeping a database of users that the flash code connects so we can all actually log on and have our items, lots of software requires money. Some are one payment but web hosting and others are monthly or annual. They need to check for bugs and errors. Employ staff and pay them. Ensure Customer Quality and Service and pay for Website hosting.
money shouldn't be a reason. you can always just do something nice without expecting to be paid for it^ CP is not a charity. If Disney didn't make money off it why would they continue to keep the game going?
