I saw 2 guides about secret hidden symbols already, I decided to post a HUGE guide to the hidden symbols. I'll keep adding more, don't worry.
So the basic is to hold the "Alt" button and press a number on the number pad on the right of the keyboard.
This guide maybe won't work for Macs.
Here you go:
Basics:
☺ = Hold alt and press 1
☻ = Hold alt and press 2
♥ = Hold alt and press 3
♦ = Hold alt and press 4
♣ = Hold alt and press 5
♠ = Hold alt and press 6
• = Hold alt and press 7
◘ = Hold alt and press 8
○ = Hold alt and press 9
2 digits:
◙ = Hold alt and press 1, then 0 (without letting go the alt button)
♂ = Hold alt and press 1 two times
♀ = Hold alt and press 1, then 2
♪ = Hold alt and press 1, then 3
♫ = Hold alt and press 1, then 4
☼ = Hold alt and press 1, then 5
► = Hold alt and press 1, then 6
◄ = Hold alt and press 1, then 7
↕ = Hold alt and press 1, then 8
Etc... it goes up to infinity, you can experiment with 3 numbers and more to see what it does... §¶÷░
Same digit _ times:

▬ = Hold alt and press 2 2 times
▐ = Hold alt and press 2 3 times
