This isn't necessarily about Club Penguin, but it's still important for anyone using the internet. I just tried to open an innocent picture on Google images, and it almost put a virus into my computer. Thankfully it was blocked by a security system on my computer, but If i didn't have that security system, my computer would be infected right now. It may not sound that bad, but it is. If your computer is infected, it can completely break down, or even worse, the virus can steal all of your information that you have ever put into your computer. That means your pictures, documents, age, location, passwords, or anything else of yours can be stolen by a criminal. A virus like this is called "Spy Ware". Also, it's not just pictures that can give you viruses. It can also be websites, gaming sites, and even emails! Thats right, emails. You can be looking through your emails, when you find a new one. You open it, and boom! Your computer is infected, and the virus is already taking your information. Don't worry, this doesn't happen with all emails. If it's your friend or someone you know, then the email is safe. But if it's from someone you don't know, or it's in your spam folder, ask a parent before opening the email. Also, be VERY careful when looking through images, especially on Google images. This isn't the first time this happened to me from that website.
All in all, be very careful when searching the web, because you never know where a virus is hiding.

I don't know if you guys remember the "Hallmark Virus" a couple years back, it somehow got into my companies servers and my parents (are now retired) work servers, too. I know it costed our company over 37,000 (is equal to a new vehicle) to replace the servers and bunches of laptops and desktops. Since then we all got virus protection from AVG.

I recommend virus protection for anyone.

I would suggest instead of using Google (which my mom wont let me use because they track everything you do)
Try using http://www.ixquick.com/ and make it your homepage, they have images on there too!! ;)
Or for images I usually use photobucket.....

Yes, very true! Luckily, I have a Mac but that doesn't mean that they don't get viruses! Posted Image
