Role Play Rules:
Here at CPI, we encourage Creativity and story telling. But there needs to be a few basic ground rules. We want this section be unique, creative, imaginative, fun -- but most of all Safe! Please take time to review the rules below, as all members will be expected to uphold these rules & guidelines while role playing. And most especially while running a thread.
1.) No Graphic Violence. Disagreements, struggles, strife may happen. But nothing gorey or gross may be mentioned or described.
2.) Absolutely NO physical Romance contact between People, this includes having crushes on each other. You may not keep it a secret from the character to make it OK, you also may not "read minds" for a character to discover a crush.
Animals may have mates, but their romantic content may not go past a nuzzle or grooming (lick). Animals are allowed to have cubs (babies) together, but it may not be described in any way. You may post "Summer and Firefly chose to have pups, and a season later five pups arrived." or "Firefly was in a lot of pain and had five pups." but nothing more.
3.) No fighting amongst members. Please respect every member in this area, if you have a disagreement or concern please report the post or thread. Also do not use all caps in character or out of character, this is yelling and very rude to do. Please describe your characters' anger in another way.
4.) No blatantly adult content. This includes Language, violence, or romance (plus more), it must be kept appropriate. Do not Misspell things or change words to imply something in order to get past the censor. Discussion of Bodily functions is not allowed (this includes vomiting or other gross bathroom things). All content must be suitable for as young as 7 or 8, keep it PG. Please do not kidnap, torture, abuse, slander any character or set buildings on fire either.
5.) This is not a chat area. All posts must remain on topic and in character. Any out of character posts must be related to the role play. Leave the chat to the open mike.
6.) Links to Youtube or other role playing sites are not allowed. The only role play sites allowed to be linked are Bearvilleinsider.com, Webkinzinsider.com or FreeRealmsinsider.com as they all belong to the "insider family".
7.) Only approved role play threads are allowed here. Any new threads that are started without permission will be immediately closed or deleted. Please post on the Application thread if you are interested in owning a thread. You will be required to wait for approval, and there is no time line to when your thread will be accepted (it could be a few weeks or months before you are allowed to post it). You are only allowed one thread - you may co-own one or own one thread, but not participate in a leadership role on both.
8.) Elite and Super Elite role plays are NOT allowed. Semi-elite threads are allowed, but they must be accepting of new members willing to learn.
9.) You may not post images found on the web without the artists permission. This includes many websites such as Wajas.com, Deviantart.com and more. Do not hot link images you have permission to use either.
10.) You may NOT use this red or this blue ink, as they are reserved for staff members.
11.) When your character is speaking, you must use quotes. For example, "It would look like this". When you are speaking out of character, you need to use ( ) as in (I've got to leave.) or (What did I miss?). This is common courtesy in role-plays and allows members to understand if you are speaking about the role play, or making an out of character comment (about something else). If you do not follow this rule and have been warned several times, you may be banned for role plays for a determined amount of time.
12.) Always use your best spelling and grammar. We do not expect you to be perfect, but we expect you to try. We all make typos or have trouble spelling certain rules. That's OK, it is not OK to make frequent typos, spelling, or grammar errors out of simple laziness.
13.) Power playing and God Modeling are Strictly Prohibited.
Power playing is when you are controlling the movements, thoughts, or actions of the characters around you. This post would be power playing: Mary and Gary were talking and chose to go to the supermarket. Mary said to Gary "Let's go buy some soda pop! I am thirsty." and left. Gary soon followed after. -- It is NOT allowed for your character (Mary) to make the other members character (Gary) to follow yours. You must suggest the action and then allow them to post their reply.
God Modeling is when you portray or make your character unbeatable, all powerful and almighty. It can also be making your character flawless (perfect).
14.) No Smoking, Drugs or Alcohol in role plays.
15.) Role playing MUST take place on approved threads. You are not allowed to role play by Private messages (PM) or comments (VM).
16.) Both Owners and Member of Role plays are expected to patrol their threads. Please report problems and/or broken rules on the thread. Owners and members who are aware of people breaking the rules, but do not report it to the staff will be disciplined along with those who broke the rules. You need to be good role models! If the thread continues to be a violation of the rules & the owner/members are not reporting these posts, the thread will be permanently closed.
17.) If you are leaving for a prolonged amount of time (vacation, going away, etc) please let a staff member know. We will then discuss if the thread will be run by another member while you are away, or closed for that period of time.
Perhaps the most important thing to remember:
If you are not sure if it is allowed, report the post! The Staff will NOT do anything without first reviewing the situation and checking if it is allowed according to the rules.
