Hi Everyone,

Recently we have found that members have been editing quotes to make it seem like another user posted this. Here is an example of what I am talking about:

This is not polite to do and you may find yourself in trouble if you participate in this. For example, if you edited a quote to say that I (Ashley Fable) said: "You will get banned if you make any more posts" that would be impersonating a staff member. This is against our rules, and its misleading and not allowed to say things like that, or pretend that a staff member said anything like that. And it does not mean just rude or untrue things, even silly things can be taken out of context and its not good to do.

This is also the same for other members (non staff) on CPI. It is very rude to mislead users to believe someone said something, or start rumors by making fake quotes by other users. You may say something as a joke in the quote by your friend, but that friend could feel very hurt by it or a rumor could be started about that user, which is not good.


Please don't do this, its just not nice.

I have not done this before, nor will I ever do it in my entire life, but that is very rude. You would think that by now, people would understand and stop doing this, but no, of course not. :( Thanks, though, Ashely Fable, for letting everybody know that it is not right. :)

Could we put one like if we copy a post to our blog and then a person said that can we put there name so they get credit? (I contacted you)....

I do agree if its very mean its different if its for a different site.

Yes, quotes are to be used to credit someone, link back to the post, reply, etc. Its just not used to make rumors or such up. :)

What if we don't use members usernames? 'Cause I like to do random stuff like "from Mountain Dew" at "Time for more Mountain Dew 8030." Are we allowed to do stuff like that?
